It would be surprising to know that more than 2500 trade shows are being held annually in the United States alone. The amount that the participating companies spend in these trade-shows, makes different cities compete with each other. They take it as a means of strengthening the economy.
There is an initial cost involved when to think of participating in a trade fair. This cost consists of space rental, purchasing or hiring trade show displays, telephones, internet services, travel, accommodation etc. As they spend this amount, the companies will surely look for some profit.
The benefits you derive at a trade fair are many fold. There are four reasons why a company should want to join a trade-show and incur the heavy expenditure that it has to. They want to:

4) An island Exhibit – such an exhibit needs large space where the exhibit is located in the center and aisles are left on all four sides

But in South America and Asia, building a new booth every time is preferred. It is because of the cheap labor and availability of raw material. While in North America, the booth material is made from aluminum truss or hard wood.
The duration of the trade-shows in Europe is longer as it is all about longer conferences, closing deals etc. this makes the trade show displays a bit different there.
In the United States, there are thousands of companies, which sell or rent out trade show displays. Some of them have big showrooms and others sell online.
